Spring RTW’19 collections were full of revelations with Hedi Slimane redefining Celine almost completely, transforming its identity upside down. Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood showcased an array of garments from fem-approved silhouettes to beefcake scooter boys.
Brands like Gucci and Maison Margiela brought purses for men to the forefront - although familiar, this season it became prominent in many of the season’s collections. As the shift in menswear occurs, designers are becoming experimental in their design process to service the new wave of style pioneers. Bespoke tailored suits and overbearing alpha personas are over (for some).

Now however, menswear have broken new ground in the past few seasons. Fashion-forward men are embracing the essential accessory that women have coveted for years - a handbag. It started with the comeback of the fanny pack.
Major fashion houses from Balenciaga to Gucci have all sent their own down the runways. This opened the door for some men to transition into wearing purses - such as the Chanel boy bag or a Christian Dior saddle bag. I think it's great that there are men who’re brave enough to rock women’s accessories, knowing that fashion has no limits. There's a handbag out there for everyone.”
