EDITOR'S CLOSET
#realmengroom DEC 2015

HO HO HO, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and all that good stuff… right? Well Tis the season, and it’s got me thinking. What the hell am I getting my friends this year? More importantly, what the hell should they get me? Well my thinking cap’s been on for a while now, and by George, I think I’ve got it. The greatest gift to get any guy this holiday is what he’s already got; the bare essentials. Here’s a glimpse at some of mine, which at the very least will make great stalking stuffers!

BODYtalk

For me the bare essentials have to do with grooming, and that starts with the body. That;s why after a shower I moisturize from head to toe with a good body lotion. My favorite is RetaW’s ‘Fragrance Body Creams’, an organic collection of body creams that totally protect against dry skin and i never overpower my next essential. Cologne! Of course, I’m into a range of different scents, but I always say every men (and women for that matter) should have a signature. Mine happens to be a unisex fragrance launched in 1941 from Parisian design house Caron. ‘Royal Bain de Champagne’ is a  masculine scent  which possesses a blend of fresh, light, oriental resins, night florals, musk and vanilla; and has been a staple in my family for as long as I can remember.

MANhair

Once my body’s right, then next is the hair. Now if you know me, you know that I don’t have much hair. In fact, I was bald for most of 2015. But when I do have a hair, there are some essentials I’d rather not live without. First, my all natural hair mist. (Yea, I said it!) In case you missed it, I have a thing for scents; and I’ve recently discovered the ‘Bliss Lavender and Sweet Basil Hair Mist’ from Tiffany’s Loc Jewels. The signature spray is part of collection of men’s natural hair mists that leave your hair smelling fresh all day long. That means before and after the gym fellas.

I discovered this next hair essential a few years back and couldn’t get over how clever and insightful it was. I’m talking about ‘The Perfect Part’ from TailoredAvenue.com. Don’t call it a comb, because it’s so much more. Perfect for the gentleman on the go, the Perfect Part will never leaves a hair out of place.

FACEtime

First the body, then the hair, and now the face. For the best shave I love the 'Truman Razor' from Harry’s. It’s expertly modeled to give you the closest shave that lasts, and without irritation. Leaving my face smooth as a baby bottom. Which means I’m ready for the next step in my grooming regiment.

Once again, if you know me, you know that I’m a fierce advocate of man make-up, and maintain that a little concealer never hurt nobody. But I’m not here to tell you how to drag it up, instead Im here to let you know that blemishes and uneven skin tone becomes obsolete with a little tinted moisturizer. For men, you can’t do better than Lab Series’ 'BB Tinted Moisturizer’ for all skin tones. TRUST ME, it WORKS!

I top off my grooming regiment with my lips. Having to talk all day means dry lips and that’s a definite no-go. Especially if your not using a good lip balm. My favorite lip essential is the ‘RetaW Fragment Design Lip Balm’. the balm is a collaboration between RetaW-Tokyo and legendary Japanese fashion designer Hiroshi Fujiwara. What I love about it are it’s quality ingredients, hydrating features, absorbent texture and long lasting wear.
